Create logical volume in linux

1. Login as root on the machine
2. Create logical volume:
lvcreate -L 10G vgname -n lvname
3. Create file system on lv:
mke2fs -j /dev/vgname/lvname
4. Create mount directory:
mkdir /mountpoint
5. Add the mount point in /etc/fstab
vi /etc/fstab
/dev/vgname/lvname     /mountpoint     ext3     default     0 0
6. Remount the file systems:
mount -a
